The Six Tones combine art music from Vietnam and Europe. The result is far from easily digested. The Vietnamese music, with a different tonal system than in Western art music, allows itself to unite with western art music. The composer Malin Bång’s Fireworks and Silver Birds for dan tranh (Vietnamese zither), dan bau (a monochord from Vietnam), 10-stroing guitar and electronics is the highlight of the concert for me. The two Vietnamese performers, Ngo Tra My och Nguyen Thanh Thuyare virtuosos on their instruments, something even a westerner can hear. Above all the latter on the dan bau was an amazing listening experience. The instrument is played on harmonics on a single string, the pitch of which is altered by means of a handle held with the thumb and index finger of the left hand. The traditional piece Loi Lo, performed by Ngo Tra My, was the most sincere moment of the concert. ___________________________________________________________ Tonsättaren Malin Bångs "Fireworks and Silver Birds" för dan De två vietnamesiska musikerna Ngo Tra My och Nguyen Thanh Framför allt den senare på instrumentet dan bau var en smått Det traditionella stycket Loi Lo som Nguyen Thanh Thuy framförde var konsertens mest innerliga stund.
